Welcome to The Savannah Lure Course Interest Club, known as
"SLIC". The club was formed by several folks that began Lure coursing for "FUN" back in 2000. At that time there were sighthounds,
and many other breeds, that came out to course on a regular basis, and just enjoyed the sport of coursing for conditioning
their dogs and getting together. In 2002, the Bloomingdale City Hall gave permission for the club to use the field at the
Talyor Community Park.We found that the folks with large sighthounds, or those of us that attend trials regularly were unable
to use this field well as it was a little small and our dogs needed a much larger field to open up and run full throttle !
And soon there became available a large horse ranch on I-16. Approximately once a month, we are also treated to a big set
up on the many acres at the White/Humphries ranch. There, the Dogs run with great contentment, on the big open space! The
club also has maintained its heartbeat...."Run for FUN"It is open to all breeds. But it also now wishes to expand its thinking
to support growth, and add new possibilities into its future by extending its outlook to becoming an "AKC Lure Coursing Club".
By becoming AKC affiliated, the club will be able to have AKC Licensed "TRIALS". This in turn will grow the club in many ways
, and bring people to the area, to see our beautiful part of the country. ( The Savannah Lure Course Interest Club is always
interested in new areas where Lure Coursing can be held. If You know of any nice fields that can be offered to the club,or
if you know of someone interested in our club, Please contact us. SLICdogs@msn.com ) There is a possibility of a Tax benefit
if your property is used for educational purposes... We are always welcoming new folks, and are especially looking for "SIGHTHOUND"
folks interested in Lure Coursing "Competition".If you have never Lure Coursed before, don't worry ! There are enough folks
to help you learn !(only Sighthounds are able to do ASFA or AKC competition ) You can also find Lure Coursing information,
